August 2, 1945 - December 22, 2020

Funeral services will be livestreamed on our facebook page https://business.facebook.com/williams.f.home/ ************************************************************************ Marjo Baisden, 75, of Gordon, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Services for Marjo will be conducted Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11 AM in the Gordon First Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in Ramah Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams White Columns Funeral Home, Monday, December 28, 2020 from 6 to 8 PM. Marjo was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace Cranford Shepherd and a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County. She graduated from Wilkinson County High School and graduated with a B. S. Degree in Education from West Georgia College, Masters Degree in Special Education and 6-Year Degree in Curriculum Instruction from Georgia College. Marjo began her career in the Wilkinson County School System in 1966 until June 2004 and during that time was a teacher, Special Education Director, Assistant Principal and Principal for the Primary/Elementary School. Marjo also was an Adjunct Professor for GCSU for 18 years in the Special Education Department. Ms. Baisden loved her students and those that weren’t; they all said to know Ms. Marjo was to be loved by her. Marjo was always involved with education so, after retirement she again entered service to the community from 2009 until 2016 as Chairperson of the Wilkinson County Board of Education. Preceded in death by her son, Doug Baisden, she was a member of the Gordon First Baptist Church. Survivors include Daughter: Kelli Starley (Ricky) of McIntyre Brother: Kenneth Shepherd (Mary Ellen) of McIntyre Grandchildren: James, Jacob, Jonas and Jorjann Starley of McIntyre Nephews: Silas (Alison), Flint (Tracey) and Jeremiah (Holly) Shepherd Many Children that weren’t birthed by her but she called her own.
