Mr. Julian “Red” Carr, 99, of Toomsboro passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 in South Carolina. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Gordon. Interment will be private in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 10 AM until the service hour. Mr. “Red” was a life long resident of Wilkinson County, but had moved to his daughter’s in South Carolina. He was the Son of the late Alonzo Emmett and Mary Frances Weaver Carr. Mr. “Red” attended Toomsboro High School and was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Marine Corp. He participated in action at Beuganville, Guam and Iwo Jima. Preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers, he was employed for 33 years with Thomasville Furniture Industries and 5 years with Baxley Veneer and Cleat. Mr. “Red” was a member of the Toomsboro Baptist Church since 1946. Survivors include: Wife- Geraldine Brown Carr of South Carolina; Daughter: Jan Ellen (John) Lingo of South Carolina; Granddaughter: Shayla Rose Lingo of South Carolina A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Williams-White Columns Funeral Home of Gordon is in charge of arrangements.
