Donald “Don” Worthy, 60, of Gordon, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:00 PM in Williams White Columns Funeral Home with Cliff Worthy officiating. Interment will be private in Ramah Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Williams-White Columns Funeral Home in Gordon Friday immediately following the funeral service. Son of the late Willie T. “Doc” Worthy and the late Lillian Brown Worthy Bishop, he was a lifelong resident of Gordon. Preceded in death by his Brother: Charles Worthy; Brother-in-law: Charles Dennard; Nephew: Duggan Garner; Step-Father: John Bishop and Father-in-law: Wayne Bentley, he was retired from Armstrong World Industries. Don worked for Engelhard M&C and was a member of the IBEW. He was a railroad historian with the Middle Georgia Railroad Association. Don was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed his gardening. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and member of the Gordon United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife: Dawn Bentley Worthy-Gordon Daughter: Victoria Worthy- South Carolina Sons: Josh Worthy-Gordon and Mitch (Casey) Johnson-Gray Sister: Doris Dennard-Gainesville, GA Brother: Steve (Bobbie) Worthy-Warner Robins A Special Nephew: Cliff Worthy-Gordon Mother-in-law: Sulin Bentley-Gordon 4-Grandchildren: Brandin, Emilee, Trever and Kaitlyn Johnson A number of nieces and nephews
